G. Steven Burrill Chairman

G. Steven Burrill has been involved in the growth and prosperity of the biotechnology industry for over 40 years. An early pioneer, Mr. Burrill is one of the original architects of the industry and one of its most avid and sustained developers. Prior to founding Burrill & Company in 1994, he spent 28 years with Ernst & Young, directing and coordinating the firm's services to clients in the biotechnology/life sciences/high technology/manufacturing industries worldwide. In 2002, Mr. Burrill was recognized as the biotech investment visionary by the prestigious Scientific American magazine (The Scientific American 50).

Mr. Burrill is a founder and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for the National Medals of Science and Technology. Additionally, he serves as Chairman of the Board on Campaign for Medical Research as well as Chairman of the San Francisco Mayor's Biotech Advisory Committee (MAYBAC).

A graduate of Holy Cross College, a former Peace Corps Volunteer and a graduate of the Wharton School with an MBA in Finance, John spent 30 years as an executive in the financial services industry, focusing on technology start-up companies for the last eight years. From 1993 to 2001, John was CEO of Silicon Valley Bancshares and Silicon Valley Bank. During his tenure the bank's assets grew from $935 million to $5.5 billion, the employees from 235 to over 1000, and the market capitalization from $63 million to a high of over $3 billion. From 2001 to 2003, he was Chairman of the Board for the bank and the holding company. In 1997 Business Week recognized John as one of Silicon Valley's top 25 "movers and shakers". In 2000 and 2001, Silicon Valley Bancshares was ranked first among the two hundred largest banking companies in the United States by U.S. Banker, based upon return on equity and growth in per-share net income over a five-year period. In 2001 Forbes recognized John as one of the "50 most powerful dealmakers." And, in 2001 Fortune ranked Silicon Valley Bancshares among the "100 Fastest-Growing Companies" based on growth in revenues, EPS and total market return over three years.

Matt Hermann actively leads AHV's investing efforts. Before joining AHV, he served for five years, most recently as vice president with Atlantic Medical Management, LLC, a New York-based venture capital management company focused on early- to mid-stage healthcare services and information technology companies. Prior to that, Mr. Hermann served in financial management roles at two publicly traded healthcare companies, Nutrition 21, Inc. and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and worked at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York City. Mr. Hermann is a board observer at several AHV portfolio companies.

He holds a Bachelor's of Science in Engineering from Tufts University, College of Engineering, and an MBA in Finance from New York University, Leonard N. Stern Graduate School of Business.

Joseph D. Keegan, PhD

Dr. Keegan has more than 25 years of experience managing life science tools businesses. During his 9-year tenure at MDC, Dr. Keegan grew the company's revenues from $30 million to $190 million through internal growth and acquisitions. In early 2007, he oversaw its acquisition by MDS for $615 million. Dr. Keegan joined MDC from Becton Dickinson and Company where he served as president of Worldwide Tissue Culture and vice president, general manager of Worldwide Flow Cytometry. Prior to Becton Dickinson, Dr. Keegan was vice president of the Microscopy and Scientific Instruments Division of Leica, Inc. He currently serves on the board of directors of ALSSA, Alpha Innotech Corporation, BioImagene, Inc. and Seahorse Bioscience Inc. Dr. Keegan holds a PhD in physical chemistry from Stanford University.

Yatin Mundkur focuses on early-stage technology investments. As a Partner of Artiman Ventures, he is currently on the boards of BioImagene, Nethra Imaging, Spudnik, Virident Systems and Xbux. Before joining Artiman Ventures in 2004 as a Partner, Yatin was Managing Director at TeleSoft Partners, where he led investments in over twenty companies, in the early stage semiconductor and software sectors. Prior to joining TeleSoft Partners, Yatin founded and served as President of Equator Technologies, a developer of Programmable Media Processors. His prior experience also includes VP/Group Manager at Conexant, and Chief Architect/Design Manager at Sun Microsystems, Ross Technology and Cypress Semiconductor. Yatin has over 17 years of overall experience working with technology companies in venture capital. He also holds ten patents in areas of computer architectures, digital consumer electronics, semiconductor design, and software.

Yatin holds a B.S.E.E. from MSU of Baroda, India, and an M.S.E.E. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Ajit Singh, PhD

Dr. Ajit Singh is recognized as an expert in both the future of radiation oncology and the role of IT in today's health care environment.

Prior to joining BioImagene, his most recent position was as CEO of the Image and Knowledge Management Group of Siemens Healthcare, headquartered in Erlangen, Germany. As the CEO, he had the global responsibility for a portfolio of businesses, including medical image management business, the imaging software platform business, the computer aided diagnosis (CAD) business and an incubation-stage knowledge.

From 2001 to 2006, Ajit was the President and CEO of the Oncology Care Systems Group of Siemens Medical, headquartered in Concord, California. Under his leadership, Siemens Oncology was transformed from a linear accelerator business into a comprehensive oncology solutions business - gaining market share, and establishing itself as the innovation leader, while adding many new products to its portfolio. Prior to this, Ajit held the positions of Group Vice-President of the e.health Business division, responsible for the e.Business portfolio of Siemens Medical, and Vice President of the Siemens Health Services, where he led the company's consulting services practice and picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) business.

Before transitioning to these business responsibilities, Ajit spent several years in R&D and academia. He spent six years at Siemens R&D in Princeton, responsible for research in the areas of robotics, artificial intelligence, computer vision, image processing, cognitive sciences, and applications such as surveillance, automation, cardiology, and oncology. Ajit also served as an adjunct faculty at Columbia University and Princeton University.

Ajit is a popular speaker in the MedTech, imaging, life sciences, healthcare information systems, and healthcare economics communities, as well as in history, philosophy, and business management. He has published two books and numerous refereed articles, and holds five patents. He has a PhD in Computer Science from Columbia University, a master's degree in computer engineering from Syracuse University and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Banaras Hindu University, India.

Mohan is a co-founder of BioImagene and has more than 20 years of experience as a high-tech entrepreneur. Mohan was the co-founder of Roamware Inc. and was the president and founder of SoftPlus, a leading provider of eCRM software for telecom carriers around the world. In February 2000, SoftPlus was sold to US Interactive for $360 million. Prior to starting SoftPlus, Mohan co-founded and served as the president of Digital Tools Inc., a leader in enterprise project and resource management software. He has held various software development and management positions with Hewlett Packard and Intel. Mohan has a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Bombay University in Mumbai. He is a charter member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), a Silicon Valley-based forum for entrepreneurs.
