iSlide Input Device

BioImagene’s iSlide is an input device that eases a pathologist’s transition from manual to digital pathology. The iSlide device gives pathologists a microscope-like viewing experience by allowing them to use their fine motor skills to view digital images. The iSlide allows pathologists to use the motions of moving a glass slide with their fingers to navigate a digital image, and allows them to use knobs to change focus and the magnification of the image they’re viewing. The motions and ergonomics of the iSlide parallel those of a microscope, giving pathologists the same level of comfort they have while using the microscope. The iSlide also integrates a full-size QWERTY keyboard, wireless mouse, speakers, and a microphone into a unified device, reducing the clutter and space requirements on a pathologist’s desk.

  • Independent left and right knob controls, configurable by user for navigating through z-planes for focus and/or changing magnifications
  • Two user-configurable command buttons, with easy access, to make commonly performed tasks [ex. capturing snapshots] more efficient
  • In-built wireless mouse or user’s own mouse can be used for application tools [ex. drawing annotations or capturing snapshots], and for all non-digital pathology applications
  • In-built microphone can be used for virtual teleconferences
